This Veterinary Large Animal Nurse I (Limited Term) Intern position provides an opportunity for professional growth in the Veterinary Health Center. An outstanding graduate veterinary nurse will be selected to obtain high quality, enhanced technical experience and training through employment in defined specialty areas. Objective of this position is to enhance employee marketability for private practice and/or assist with obtaining two years of post-graduate experience to qualify for future Veterinary Nurse II openings in the VHC. This position is for a temporary instructor in the Civil Engineering Department. Applicant will teach one Water Resources class, with potential to instruct up to three classes during fall and two classes during spring.
Animal Technician Supervisor Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
This position will function as the assistant manager of the Dairy Teaching and Research Center and is responsible for ensuring the safety of the cows and other diary unit employees.The incumbent will assume responsibility for operation of the dairy unit in the manager's absence. Incumbent is responsible for milking cows at least two days each week and for making vital animal observations during the milking process. Supervises and trains student assistants in proper milking procedures and other general dairy farm duties. This person will offer assistance when required in performing daily routines. Practices and teaches safety precautions at all times. Maintains and administers a continuing education program for all employees involved in animal care and equipment maintenance.
