| The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for an Extension Associate to work closely with Extension Specialists, and in collaboration with Agents, industry partners, farmers, and other stakeholders to coordinate and amplify the impact of extension educational programs.
The Extension Associate will be crucial in facilitating, developing, and managing extension educational programs in agronomy. Identify emerging educational needs and propose relevant program topics. Support extension specialists in creating educational materials and resources, and promote extension events, workshops, and field days to reach a broader audience.
Areas of work may include finding and refining topics for eUpdate articles, X (Twitter), Facebook, and other social media posts, fact sheets, and other Extension products. In addition, coordinating, planning, and leading organization of traditional extension programs such as winter meetings, crop schools, and summer diagnostic schools with a primary focus on program development, identifying relevant topics and presenters, including CEU credits for certified crop advisor and commercial pesticide applicator programs. Pursue opportunities for supplemental funding to support programs.
This position will play a critical role in advancing the Extension mission of K-State by supporting the delivery of high-quality, research-based educational programs. The Extension Associate will be responsible for fostering relationships and contributing to the overall success of Extension education programs.
