The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Veterinary Nurse in Ophthalmology. A primary mission of the Hospital is to provide quality medical services for teaching, research and clients within the surrounding area. Quality, professional technical representation in the Ophthalmology Section is critical to providing services to support this mission. This position is structured to perform all technical aspects associated with providing quality ophthalmology services to clients of the KSU-VHC. The nurse in this position also has a large role in teaching various ophthalmology techniques to students and other employees of the VHC. This position is also responsible for coordination of animal treatments; instruct, train and supervise students and employees in approved treatment technique. This position is expected to demonstrate behavior that is conducive to harmonious working relationships with peers, subordinates, and supervisors.

The Wildcat Extension District is comprised of Crawford, Labette, Montgomery and Wilson Counties in southeast Kansas. The population of the district is about 95,000. The district staff is housed in five offices including Girard, Pittsburg, Altamont, Fredonia and Independence. There are thirteen agents, five office professionals and two program assistants. This position will be highly specialized in Family Resource Management and Entrepreneurship. Extension agents are community based faculty of Kansas State University who make a difference by connecting community needs with university resources. Agents are administratively responsible to the local extension director and the local extension board. This position will provide primary leadership for the development and implementation of research-based educational programming to support successful families and the systems that serve them in communities. Programs may include but are not limited to: financial planning, budgeting and record keeping, consumer credit, and taxpayer education. This position also provides assistance for entrepreneurs.
