Biosafety Animal Technician Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
This individual will assist the supervisory Animal Health Officer with broad support and coordination of activities associated with infectious disease research and food security studies. Responsibilities include waste management, decontamination, adherence to animal welfare regulations, assisting research teams in project planning and operational logistics, and training research staff on procedures, protocols and equipment operation. Duties include report generation, database inputs and user interface, work with large animals (livestock) and small lab animals (rodents and rabbits) in BSL-3 and ABSL3-Ag research projects, assisting with coordinating animal space use, assisting with technical procedures involving animals as required for research projects, decontaminating spaces and equipment and equipment with specialized technologies, and removal and decontamination of waste via alkaline hydrolysis tissue digestion equipment and autoclave sterilization. Position also supports necessary coordination for unique biocontainment areas used in food safety and security studies. Position requires evening/night, weekend, and/or holiday swing shifts as well as a variable on-call schedule as required to provide 7 days/week, 365 days/year animal care coverage.
Assistant/Associate Professor (Immunology) Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University seeks to expand our expertise in infectious diseases of production animals and host-pathogen interactions by hiring an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (tenure-track or tenured) with expertise in basic/domestic animal immunology. This position will be a 12-month appointment with approximately 70% research, 20% teaching, and 10% service appointment. The faculty is particularly interested in individuals with demonstrated experience in working across disciplines and collaborating broadly. Highest consideration will be given to candidates who also possess a strong background in cellular and molecular biology with investigations that are potentially synergistic with current College of Veterinary Medicine faculty interests in infectious diseases, vaccinology, inflammation, toxicology, cancer, public health, and food safety.

Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor - Pharmacology Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Department of Anatomy and Physiology within the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University is seeking a pharmacology faculty member (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). This is a full-time position with rank and salary commensurate with qualifications. The position is available as (1) a research and teaching appointment (tenure-track/tenured) or (2) a primarily teaching appointment (clinical-track) and may be a 9- or 12-month position based on the applicant. The candidate will be expected to teach pharmacology in the graduate and professional curriculums, and contribute to the service mission of the Department, College, and University. Specific teaching requirements will be tailored to the expertise of the applicant and the needs of the College but it is anticipated that the teaching appointment for this position will be a minimum of 40% for tenure-track and 70% for clinical track. Applicants with the ability to teach additional related biomedical topics, including physiology, are especially desirable. The overall originality and promise of a candidate’s research will be prioritized rather than the candidate’s area of specialization within pharmacology or related fields for tenure-track/tenured candidates. As part of their duties, a tenure-track or tenured candidate will be expected to mentor and train graduate and professional students in an area of the candidate’s expertise and establish and maintain an independent, dynamic, extramurally-funded research program.
