The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a full time, 12-month, Post-Doctoral Fellow position. This Post-Doctoral position for independent research including but not limited to viruses such as Influenza, African swine fever, Vesicular Stomatitis, Rift Valley Fever, Monkey Pox and other select agents under both BSL-2 and BSL-3 bio-containment conditions. Duties would include planning and conducting experiments; writing and editing manuscripts/articles; establishing procedures and techniques; and provide educational guidance to students. This position is part of a very busy, successful research team whose main goal is to develop rationally designed vaccines and diagnostics against high-consequence foreign animal, emerging and zoonotic disease threats. The position requires the individual to display critical thinking and independent judgement as it relates to ongoing and new molecular, viral research with direct guidance from the Research Science Manager and Primary Investigator. The research is conducted at the BSL2 and BSL3 level of containment and utilizes several select target animal models such as pigs, cows, chickens and mice. The position requires the acquisition and maintenance of a DOJ Select Agent clearance.
Diagnostic Tech I-Bacteriology	Manhattan, Kansas	On-site requirement
The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a temporary Diagnostic Technician (level I or II). This position exists to assist with diagnostic specimens and to utilize selective media preparations to enhance the isolation and identification of pathogenic bacteria and to conduct antibacterial sensitivity testing. This employee will assist the laboratory supervisor and other collect faculty in ongoing research projects by isolating and selecting pure colonies of bacteria for identification and pathogenicity studies and refer to reference laboratories where appropriate. The person in this position will assist with analyzing this information and translates it into a report for our clients.
Veterinary Nurse II, III, or IV – Dentistry	Manhattan, Kansas	On-site requirement
The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Veterinary Nurse II, III, or IV to join our dedicated Dentistry team to help provide exemplary patient care and customer service. This position plays a vital role in providing clinical support for the veterinary staff. Performing dental cleanings and semi-routine tasks such as preparing the dental suite for clinical operations, instrument handling during procedures, and monitoring of consumables are among the many engaging responsibilities of this role. Nurses are given the opportunity to advance their skillset through continuing education and various learning experiences. Working hours for Veterinary Nurses in this position will include daytime hours Monday-Friday. Excellent communication and leadership skills are utilized daily in this position.
Registrar Data and Process Coordinator	Manhattan, Kansas	Hybrid eligible (partially remote, must reside in US)
As a vital Office of the Registrar (REG) member, the Registrar Data and Process Coordinator will report directly to the University Registrar. In this role, they will work closely and collaboratively with various units within REG, providing support as needed to internal business processes and functions. Their primary focus will be supporting existing business processes related to REG, re-designing and streamlining them where appropriate, and updating/creating new business processes if necessary. This position will also enhance all requirements processes, particularly those involving new processes, reports, requirements, courses, and programs. They will review best practices across peer institutions and recommend new structured frameworks, addressing inefficiencies and ambiguities around current SIS processes and reporting needs.

Working directly with business stakeholders the individual in this position will collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design. This position will engage other IT professionals to identify and implement innovative solutions for complex challenges. This highly collaborative environment encourages innovation and ideas. Individuals in this position will specialize in a functional area and have the ability to provide consultative assistance and backup to other business analysts. This position will be responsible for effectively leading meetings, driving communications and working in a constantly changing environment. The Business Analysts will work on projects with some complexity, which have operational impact, and potentially strategic impact, to one or more departments/units. This position may also serve as project manager for smaller projects as workload allows.
