| Extension agents are professional educators, community connectors and innovators who serve as a link between Kansas State University and communities across Kansas. The Sunflower Extension District consists of Cheyenne, Sherman, and Wallace counties in northwest Kansas. Three agents, three office professionals, and a multi-county agronomist serve the district’s combined population of just over 10,000 people.This position will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming related to agriculture and natural resources. Programming topics may include but are not limited to: livestock production; agricultural economics, management, and public policy; horticultural production and management; and natural resources conservation and environmental stewardship.

| The Identity & Access Management (IDAM) Senior Security Engineer is more than a technical expert; they are a pivotal resource within the university, acting as the primary liaison for departmental identity managers. This role is responsible for helping implement and continuously optimize identity and access management services in line with evolving technologies and security regulations. They are responsible for helping design, implement, and maintain IDAM technologies to ensure audit and privacy compliance, and drive automation wherever possible. This role will also assist with resolving any security issues related to IDAM operations.
Leadership and coordination are essential elements of this role. You'll drive cross-functional teams, facilitating discussions and serving as the subject matter expert. The Senior Engineer will also focus on the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of IDAM systems. This ensures not only optimal performance but also adherence to stringent security protocols. This Post-Doctoral position for independent research including but not limited to viruses such as Influenza, African swine fever, Vesicular Stomatitis, Rift Valley Fever, Monkey Pox and other select agents under both BSL-2 and BSL-3 bio-containment conditions. Duties would include planning and conducting experiments; writing and editing manuscripts/articles; establishing procedures and techniques; and provide educational guidance to students. This position is part of a very busy, successful research team whose main goal is to develop rationally designed vaccines and diagnostics against high-consequence foreign animal, emerging and zoonotic disease threats. The position requires the individual to display critical thinking and independent judgement as it relates to ongoing and new molecular, viral research with direct guidance from the Research Science Manager and Primary Investigator. The research is conducted at the BSL2 and BSL3 level of containment and utilizes several select target animal models such as pigs, cows, chickens and mice. The position requires the acquisition and maintenance of a DOJ Select Agent clearance. |
