Diagnostic Technician I-Necropsy Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
This position within KSVDL exists to serve the needs of clientele/stakeholders (clients, faculty, residents, students, coworkers) in regards to necropsy and sample reception, and assistance with all activities on the necropsy floor. This position will oversee and manage all necropsy floor activities including scheduling for teaching and research, disinfection, adherence to biosafety procedures and protocols in accordance with the KSVDL quality system, management of student workers, maintenance of equipment, record keeping related to the above activities, and maintenance and oversite of the KSVDL bulk autoclave and tissue digester. This position will also serve as an assistant to pathologists in necropsy procedures and sample collection from other samples (i.e. rabies testing, BSE testing, CWD testing). Some flexibility may be required regarding work hours at selected/occasional times.
Animal Technician II Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
This is a relief emergency milking position. Duties include setting up milking equipment, carefully moving cows to and from the milking parlor, prepping cows properly for milking (predippping and cleaning of teats), diagnosing abnormal milk (if mastitis exists then proper milking and disposal of milk must occur), attaching milking machines, and post-dipping teats after milking. The employee sanitizes the equipment before and after each milking shift. In addition, the employee coducts regular inspection of the milk tank compressors, milk line and pump to ensure bulk storage tanks are operating correcting and cooling milk before, during, and after each milking shift. Other miscellaneous animal care duties may be assigned during the milking shift.

This position exists to milk, feed and provide care of the Dairy Teaching and Research Center dairy herd, which is used for teaching and research purposes.
Assistant/Associate Professor in Beef Production Systems Hays, Kansas On-site requirement
The Western Kansas Research and Extension Centers at Kansas State University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor in Beef Production Systems for a 12-month tenure-track position with a 70% research and 30% extension appointment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading an integrated and nationally recognized research program in beef production systems that addresses issues relevant to Kansas’ cow/calf producers (conception to harvest). This individual will be expected to extend their research impact by working with an integrated KSU Beef Extension team.
Assistant/Associate Professor, Extension Agronomist Parsons, Kansas On-site requirement
The Eastern Kansas Research and Extension Centers at Kansas State University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor, Extension Agronomist to lead an active and innovative extension education and applied research program to support counties in the Southeast region of Kansas, focusing on agronomic crop production and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of Extension specialists and research scientists. Tenure home for this position will be in the Department of Agronomy. The successful candidate will investigate forages and cropping systems for the region, collaborate with other subject matter disciplines at the regional and state level, and meet expectations of extension-related scholarship and applied research. The candidate filling this position is responsible for providing leadership for Extension educational programs in forages, field crops, precision agriculture tools/techniques, soils, and weed management in Southeast Kansas. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide mentorship and in-service training opportunities for local unit Extension agents across this region that includes 26 counties.
