Laboratory Client Services Representative Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KSVDL) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a part-time, Laboratory Client Services Representative. The successful applicant will be a team member in the Mailroom and Sample Processing Lab. The primary duties entail performing all aspects of Rabies Serology pre-analytical work (receive and open packages from couriers and delivery services, organize, accession, and label samples (human and animal biological fluids), data entry, rack and data entry verification, other pre-testing procedures such as aliquoting, heat inactivation, and sample storage). May also perform additional support tasks as necessary and time allows. The successful applicant must have the communication and interpersonal skills needed to work as a team member. This mailroom receives a high volume of samples and thus requires the ability to work and enter data quickly while maintaining excellent attention to details.
Veterinary Assistant- Large Animal (Overnight) Manhattan, Kansas On-site requirement
The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. Primary purpose is to coordinate and provide technical services required for providing quality veterinary care to client, teaching and research patients in the equine and livestock service areas. Other duties include stocking the large animal barn and entering information into the electronic medical records system. This position is also responsible for monitoring 4th year veterinary students. Working hours for this position will include Thursday-Saturday, 8pm-8am as well as occasional on-call coverage.

This agent will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of research-based educational programming related to nutrition, food safety, and health. Programming may include but is not limited to: nutrition through the life cycle; supplemental nutrition education; food security; consumer and food handler food safety; local food systems; physical activity promotion; and chronic disease prevention.
Southwind District 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent Other On-site requirement
Extension agents are professional educators who serve as a link between Kansas State University and communities across Kansas. The Southwind District is comprised of Allen, Bourbon, Neosho and Woodson counties in southeast Kansas. The district’s staff consists of eight agents, two program assistants and four specialized office professionals. This agent will cooperatively lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive 4-H youth development program for school-aged youth in cooperation with local community members and extension colleagues. Southwind District has more than 550 4-H members, 20 4-H clubs and over 100 volunteers.

The farm manager is responsible for the overall effectiveness of the crop and livestock systems at the Center. The farm manager receives input/requests for work from the various faculty conducting research at the centers. The farm manager, in conjunction with the department head, prioritizes research requests and ongoing operations. This position is the manager/supervisor of the Student Services unit within the Office of the Registrar and utilizes a teamwork approach to ensure that the Office is providing quality service while adhering to University policies and procedures. The student services unit is responsible for FERPA, transcripts, graduation, commencement, NCAA eligibility, major changes, enrollment transactions, and other academic record functions. Each of these tasks are vital to university stakeholders and timely completion of services by the unit is important to student success. This position assists with the resolution of complex issues related to students' academic permanent records and student services; coordinates daily tasks of the area; and serves as the primary liaison between the office and academic community. Assists the Assistant Registrar for Student Services in planning and implementing improvements to the area, both with business processes and technological enhancements. This position is also responsible for the planning of university commencement ceremonies, with the assistance of stakeholders throughout the university. As Chair of the Commencement Committee, this position is required to attend commencement ceremonies, each Spring and Fall semester in Manhattan and Salina, which occur on Friday and Saturday. Must have a desire to work within a high-pace work environment and have the ability to prioritize competing tasks when necessary. The CTPP operates a conservation seedling distribution program which procures and/or produces various types of woody plant material including bare-root seedlings, stratified seed and containerized seedlings to be used for conservation plantings throughout the state. Over 40 species of deciduous and coniferous trees and shrubs are propagated and or/procured on an annual basis. The agricultural technician recruited will fill an important role at KFS through the facilitation of greenhouse operations, through the operation and maintenance of equipment, by providing assistance with labor intensive shipping operations, facilitating seed collection and processing efforts for the nursery, and maintaining grounds around KFS. This position will qualify for paid stand-by time in cooperation with the CTPP Foresters.
