About This Role:

The Division of Facilities at K-State is hiring for multiple Plumber positions. This position is responsible for planning and scheduling from start to finish any assigned projects by using journey level knowledge of plumbing techniques to install, remove, replace, or repair all utility lines above or below grade. Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair campus steam and condensate systems by using skills learned in the plumbing trade to repair and install steam traps, steamers, valves, radiators, building steam systems, and equipment.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires two years of relevant experience. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work from sketches, blueprints, and specifications, and read and understand specific instructions in English.
  • Prefer high school graduate or equivalent with vocational training in the plumbing trade plus thirty months of experience in plumbing work.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
  • Valid driver’s license upon employment.
  • Become a certified Class I Asbestos Worker during the probationary period and maintain it. 
  • Cross-connection control and backflow prevention certification required during the initial probationary period.
