About This Role:

Kansas State University invites applicants for a case manager for a full -time, 12-month position. Job duties include the following: assessing for referral to short term individual, couple, and group therapy; conducting initial assessments, intakes, and crisis sessions, providing referrals and bridging care to the community as needed; consulting with students, faculty, and staff regarding mental health issues; and other tasks as requested by our Director. Occasional after-hours and weekend work is required. The position reports to the Director of the Counseling Services, which is a part of the Division of Student Life.

Kansas State University Counseling Services is a comprehensive counseling service located on the Manhattan campus. We have a staff of 20 people including marriage and family therapist, psychologists, psychology interns, practicum students, support staff, and other professional staff. We are an APA accredited training site for pre-doctoral psychology interns and a practicum site for students in K-State’s Marriage and Family Therapy program. The mission of the service is to support the educational goals of students through the process of decision-making, crisis intervention, and personal skill building. What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master-level degree in a clinical mental health field. Minimum of one year post-graduate experience in the mental health field. Licensed as a clinical mental health provider in Kansas or licensed and able to practice independently within one year of hire. (i.e. LMFT/LCMFT, LCSW, LPC, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of work experience as a licensed clinical mental health provider;  minimum of one year of work related experience at a college/university counseling center; experience in brief/solution focused therapy techniques.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
  • Licensure by the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Board.
