About this Role:

K-State Libraries are seeking a part-time (.5 FTE) Human Capital Representative.  Primary responsibilities include recruitment and retention of professional, university support staff, and student employees; processing payroll; and processing human capital related transactions.  This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and Diversity.

Must be available Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday mornings.

The Successful Candidate will:

  • Manage the Libraries’ recruitment of professional staff, university support staff, and student employees.  Serve as an ex-officio member of these search committees providing guidance and support as needed.  Ensure a quality and diverse pool of qualified candidates is generated by working with search committees and hiring managers to create recruitment plans.
  • Process time and leave entry for faculty, staff, and student employees. Maintains personnel and recruitment files using ImageNow, PageUp, and other systems as required by policies and laws.  Accurately prepares forms related to personnel actions, obtaining appropriate approvals, and submitting to HCS in accordance with procedures.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement activities to support employee engagement with professional, support staff, and student employees in the Libraries. Provides oversight for the Student Employee of the Month program and new student employee orientation.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Three years of human resources experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, management, or a related field
  • Experience with recruitment, selection, and on-boarding
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of general employment laws
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to use good judgement in decision making
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification(s)

Anticipated Hiring Range:

$ 16.31 - $ 20.79 per hour
