About This Role:

The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for a Fellow (Post Doc) to take on an interesting multi-disciplinary project aimed at enhancing post-flowering heat and drought tolerance in soybean. The major responsibility of the successful candidate will be carry out systematic characterization of soybean diversity panel under field based heat tents, use data generated on yield, yield related parameters and grain quality, and carry out GWAS analysis (in collaboration with MU colleagues) to identify genomic regions contributing to enhance heat tolerance in soybean. In addition, the candidate is expected to characterize the heat and drought response of soybean redox engineered transgenics to heat and drought stress in growth chambers and lysimeter facilities. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate actively with other members of the crop ecophysiology lab and soybean breeding programs.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Crop Physiology or Crop Genetics

Preferred Requirements:

  • Working experience in soybean; Hands on experience in  GWAS analysis demonstrated through first author publications.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$47,476 - $60,000 annually. Salary commensurate with experience.
