About This Role:

Research Technician in Biochemistry to perform experiments and carry out tasks to support the research of other laboratory members, including caring for insect cultures, preparing solutions, ordering supplies, organizing and maintaining purchasing records, supervising undergraduate student workers. Due to the nature of the funding, continued employment is contingent upon the availability of grant funding.

The position provides a stimulating and cooperative environment in biochemical research.

  • Maintain insect cultures
  • Growing plants
  • Carrying out biochemical experiments
  • Reading to understand the scientific background methods,
  • Communicating results to supervisor and group members
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining purchasing records for accounting staff
  • Supervising undergraduate students.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in biological sciences, biochemistry or entomology 
  • Experience in research in a biology, biochemistry, or chemistry laboratory

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
