About This Role:

The Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a full-time, benefits eligible, term appointment as Research Assistant who will contribute to our research projects including synthesis of anti-Alzheimer’s molecules and chiral polymers for stabilization of bimetallic nanoclusters and application in catalytic asymmetric oxidation reactions.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with synthetic organic chemistry and characterization of organic molecules.
  • Master's or PhD in synthetic organic chemistry.
  • Use of various characterization methods such as NMR, AFM, TEM, HPLC, and mass spectroscopy.  Research projects include catalytic asymmetric oxidation of diols, alkenes, and alkanes, and synthesis of anti-Alzheimer’s drug derivatives.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$19.23/hour ($40,000/annually)
