About This Role:

The Division of Biology seeks a highly motivated Research Assistant to work in the laboratory of Dr. Kalyani Pyaram starting in Fall 2020.  The Pyaram lab investigates the molecular and metabolic mechanisms of T cell functions and their effector responses.  This project involves identifying the metabolic factors shaping the adaptive immune responses and studying their role in infections and disease using molecular biology, and cell culture techniques and in animal models. Duties include conducting research, ordering supplies, and overseeing undergraduate researchers. This individual will work closely with the PI and will be involved in performing and publishing research.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in immunology, biochemistry or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in immunology, biochemistry or a related field
  • Demonstrated research experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Enthusiasm for research
  • Ability to understand and apply primary literature
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Willingness to work with animals
  • Familiarity with standard molecular biology techniques and/or immunological methods
  • Experience in mice handling, and/or research
  • Experience and/or working knowledge of Flow cytometry.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
