About This Role:

The Department of Mechanical & Nuclear Engineering is seeking applications for an Accountant I.  This position is responsible for part of the department accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, credit card statements, travel reimbursements, and maintain all accounting records of revenues and expenditures for Federal, State, and Foundation funds.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • One year of relevant experience
  • High school diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of University policy and procedures
  • Two years of experience in professional accounting/auditing work (Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency)
  • Working knowledge of an accounting program, preferably QuickBooks, and Windows applications
  • Good oral and written communication skills and working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Ability to work within a high-volume, fast-paced setting is beneficial, with strong attention to detail, organization and time-management
