About This Role:

The Office of Student Financial Assistance is hiring for a K-State Scholarship Network (KSN) Scholarship Coordinator to join their team! This is a mission-critical role within the Enrollment Management (EM) unit as it facilitates collaborative efforts across scholarship awarding colleges and departments. The Coordinator serves as the university’s key administrator for KSN providing day-to-day oversight and guiding the K-State Foundation sourced forms of student scholarships. For the 2019-20 academic year, the university provided more than $ 16.5 M in scholarships, leveraging KSN functionality. The university utilizes a Blackbaud scholarship management system known as Blackbaud Awards Management and branded as the K-State Scholarship Network (KSN). Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Serves as the Office of Student Financial Assistance’s in-house expert in the delivered functionality provided by KSN and provides leadership in facilitating enhanced integration between KSN and the K-State Student Information System (KSIS).
  • Develop efficiencies and closer integration between KSN and other university student systems such as the K-State Student Information System (KSIS) and the university’s Customer Relations Management system, TargetX.
  • Serves as the key liaison between the Office of Student Financial Assistance in providing support and assistance to scholarship administrators across the university’s colleges and departmental units, supporting the university’s enrollment management objectives.
  • Collaborates with scholarship awarding colleges/departments to establish academy-wide scholarship awarding timelines in sync with best practice Enrollment Management’s financial aid awarding schedules.
  • Counsel prospective as well as continuing students on scholarship opportunities afforded by the university.
  • Response (in-person, phone, or electronic communication) to inquiries regarding KSN navigation and availability by prospective and continuing students.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-3 years of experience in performing accounting tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience utilizing a third party, higher education student information system such as Banner, PeopleSoft, Powerfaids, etc.
  • Strong track record of collaboratively working across business units toward common, mission-critical outcomes.
  • Customer service experience requiring the ability to detail/explain complex regulatory/policy rules in an administrative/office setting.
  • 1-2 years providing training and/or presentations to small-medium size audiences.
  • Experience designing, testing, and creating business reports and/or experience extracting data utilizing query or crystal reports.
  • Exposure to a large post-secondary educational institution as an employee or student.
  • 1–2 years of robust understanding and application of federal, Title IV, student financial aid regulations.

Other Requirements:

  • Individuals may not be in default on a federal student loan and/or owe an overpayment on a federal student aid grant – to ensure that the individual may be issued access to various student aid databases by the U.S. Department of Education essential to completing tasks associated with this position.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Anticipated Pay Rate Range:

$18.75-$23.90 per hour ($39,000-$49,712 annually)
