About This Role:

We are searching for a full-time website and digital communications specialist to develop, oversee and implement social media campaigns, stakeholder outreach, and website content management for three departments (Agronomy, Horticulture, and Plant Pathology) in the Throckmorton Complex. 

Duties include:

  • Maintaining, developing, and coordinating content for three departmental public-facing websites using the University’s content management system
  • Maintaining and developing departmental workflows to keep departmental websites and social media presence fresh and updated.
  • Coordinating and assisting with the development of long-term social media campaigns for various departmental outreach and recruiting projects.
  • Posting content to social media platforms on a regular basis and collecting website and social media analytics for presentation to departmental stakeholders.
  • Assisting faculty and students with design and printing of research posters and other media on a 60-inch printer, including maintaining customer billing.

This position requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills while working with diverse internal units, groups, and technical needs. The successful candidate will apply effective project management techniques while consulting with various project leaders and internal organizational units. The candidate will demonstrate skills for working with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere and Illustrator, and a general understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript, and how a website works.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (ex. communications or web design) or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing marketing content and written communications, including social media
  • Demonstrated ability in designing and completing web design projects
  • Demonstrated ability with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere
  • Ability to demonstrate graphic design skills using the above software
  • Experience in HTML, CSS, web design concepts, and digital images
  • Experience with digital video editing, shooting, and production
  • A general understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript, and how websites work
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks and work well independently and collaboratively
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and a proven track record of completing projects on time
