About This Role:

The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for an Assistant Scientist to assist in the operation of the Kansas River Valley Experiment Field near Topeka. This individual would work closely with the agronomist-in-charge stationed at the Kansas River Valley Experiment Field, and the agricultural technician, temporary/part-time employees, researchers and graduated students from KSU in conduction field research related primarily to irrigated corn, soybean, and wheat production.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Agronomy or related field.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in operating and maintaining equipment necessary for irrigated and dryland crop production. 
  • Familiarity with irrigated and dryland crop production practices. 
  • Experience with computers and technology.
  • A basic understanding of experimental design and conduction of field research.
  • Experience/knowledge of computers, controllers/monitors/ guidance devices.
  • Metal fabrication experience and mechanical ability.
  • CDL license.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$17.42 - $23.00/hr. Salary commensurate with experience.
