About This Role:

Academic Advising in The Department of Art is a partnership between students and the Department Faculty. Advisors engage students in their educational planning, teach them how to navigate college and university resources, and encourage them to take responsibility for decisions about their academic progress.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in art/design or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Academic Advising
  • One or two years' experience advising or working directly with university student populations
  • Ability to work with students, staff, and faculty with varied backgrounds, cultures and abilities
  • Computer competence
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and capacity to work with institutional systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner
  • Ability to work effectively as a part of a team
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, both one on one, and with groups

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
