About This Role:

K-State Olathe is recruiting a new research assistant to work with the 1DATA Consortium. The incumbent to this position would be responsible for the initial configuration and implementation of an API platform in the Cerner computational environment. This is envisioned as a multipurpose platform that will integrate disparate sources of human and animal health data (FDA Drug Approvals and Databases, veterinary electronic medical records, pharmacogenomic data, preclinical toxicological data, pharmacological and diagnostic laboratory data, etc.) into a single platform using tools developed by 1DATA to create and manage their integrated human health databases.    

Responsibilities include:

  • Design environment for human and animal data for simulation.
  • Define data elements, approaches to data quality assessment and validation. This involves assessing the detailed structure of initial databases that would feed into the integrated database.
  • Closely interact with partners.
  • Make presentations on progress and future directions

 

This position is full-time, exempt, and benefits eligible.

To be Successful You Will Need:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Education and Qualifications:

  • B.S. in data science, computational mathematics, or a biomedical informatics core discipline.
  • Self-motivation, attention to detail, persistence, diligence, and the ability to work in a distributed team are essential attributes for the individual undertaking this position.
  • Familiarity with human and animal health data structures would be beneficial, as would experience with Cerner data programs.

Other Requirements:

$36,240-$61,590
