About This Role:

The Physician Assistant Program, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is currently seeking an Academic Program Specialist to join their team. This position will assist the Academic Director with first-year students during the didactic phase of training, working to coordinate didactic phase materials between faculty and students. This position will report to the Academic Director and has a proposed starting date of November 2021.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist faculty with online examination preparation, presentation, and recording of grades
  • Meet regularly with faculty to facilitate and assist with the creation and management of PowerPoint presentations, online quizzes and examinations and to ensure classroom equipment is accessible and in working condition
  • Aid in the integration of technology into the classroom as well as maintaining control of equipment, tools, and supplies required for each course
  • Assist in the coordination, design plans, scheduling, recommendation for change, and monitoring of classroom materials and their display on the faculty-student websites
  • Oversee the administration, development, and maintenance of websites related to the didactic year
  • Facilitate faculty/student communication via all online access resources and through course websites
  • Monitor for and respond to student emails, incoming program emails, and other communication sources, and receive and direct PA Program telephone calls and visitors
  • Train to proficiency in PA program educational software
  • Assist the program director in continuous program self-assessment, and ARC-PA compliance, as it pertains to the didactic phase of the PA program
  • Assist in the maintenance of the K-State PA Program grade book and other modalities associated with the ongoing evaluation and documentation of student progress and achievement
  • Ensure/maintain the confidentiality of student information
  • Participate in assigned committee meetings
  • Participate in program’s job sharing/training initiative to become familiar with duties involving clinical coordinator and admissions responsibilities
  • Perform duties in accordance with policies and procedures of the program

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Four years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of configuration and use of computerized database programs
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-starter who works well with little supervision and can multi-task

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$ 17.00 - $ 21.63 per hour
