About This Role:

College of Arts and Sciences Shared Service Center (A/S SSC) is hiring for an Accountant I. A/S SSC services fourteen departments within the College. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Document processing of department and grant expenditures
    • Agency Payment Vouchers, Business Procurement Card, Interfund Vouchers
    • Travel request and travel payments
  • Assist Business Manager
    • Posting charges and transfers
    • Auditing transactions
    • Monitor account balances
    • Track grant end dates to ensure the award is spent out
  • Provide oversight to faculty purchasing methods, spending limits and purchasing compliance
  • Offer support for new faculty and staff on accounting, travel and business procurement card purchases

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • One year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years experience in professional accounting/auditing work
  • Experience in grant administration
  • Experience in working in computer-based accounting system
  • Familiarity with the State of Kansas and Kansas State University policies and procedures regarding grant expenditure and revenue

Other Requirements:

  • All K-State employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (unless granted an exemption by the university) by December 8, 2021 or their first day of employment. To learn more about this requirement and potential exemptions, please visit K-State’s COVID-19 website.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
  • The ability to work within a high-volume, fast-paced setting is beneficial with strong attention to detail, organization and time-management skills
