About This Role:

Kansas State University invites applications for the position of Accountant II for the Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab (SIIL) within the College of Agriculture. SIIL has been funded by USAID to carry out two new Associate Awards. CEMARCH (Center of Excellence on Mitigation, Adaptation and Resilience to Climate Change in Haiti) which is focused solely in Haiti and iREACH (Feed the Future Innovation Coordination Hubs) which has a focus in Africa and Central America.

The Accountant II will be responsible for all financial management, post award accounting, and procurement for the CEMARCH and iREACH awards. This includes the facilitation of payments to entities receiving sub-awards, host country partners, and foreign vendors as well as monitoring award expenditures and other financial activities. This position will also support the SIIL Fiscal Analyst by preparing monthly budget and expenditure reports, assist with travel arrangements, track and report equipment, and provide status reports on contract status of all subawardees. The Accountant II will report directly to the Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab (SIIL) Fiscal Analyst.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance or related discipline
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial reports
  • Detail oriented and independent worker with a high degree of accuracy and accountability
  • Good organizational skills
