About This Role:

The Project Coordinator for the Center for Intercultural and Multilingual Advocacy (CIMA) will facilitate and support ESL professional development for PreK-12 teachers and paraprofessionals who serve culturally and linguistically diverse students and families.

Primary duties include:

  • Provide day-to-day coordination of activities as planned through the project goals and objectives.
  • Support recruitment of participating teachers.
  • Conduct professional learning sessions.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide mentoring/coaching support.
  • Coordinate project events (e.g., parent and teacher literacy workshops).
  • Collaborate with project staff to document participant implementation of learning (e.g., through video, photos).
  • Edit classroom video for use in educational professional development.
  • Collect, organize, and manage project data.
  • Monitor and support participant progress toward completion of professional development benchmarks (e.g., course completion, ESOL endorsement).
  • Provide progress reports to Project Directors.
  • Support development of reports for the funding agency.

This position requires travel to participating school districts and working some evenings and weekends to facilitiate sessions/workshops and support attainment of project goals and objectives.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completed Masters Degree in Education or related field.
  • 3 years teaching diverse populations at the K-12 or college level.
  • Specialized training or experience working with English learners.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrated ability in coordinating, implementing and evaluating educational programs. Bilingual or multilingual abilities. Video editing expertise.
