About This Role:

The Department of Chemistry invites applications for the position of Laboratory Administrator to begin in Fall 2022. The successful candidate will support all aspects of the day-to-day operation of our freshman chemistry labs, teach a course on Safe Laboratory Practices, and coordinate chemical hygiene efforts across the department. The specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to (i) develop and teach a course on safe laboratory practices; (ii) facilitate safety training to new personnel who participate in laboratory activities; (iii) maintain the departmental chemical inventory list; (iv) conduct safety inspections twice a year on all teaching and research labs; (v) liaise with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) about any potential health and safety hazards; (vi) supervise storeroom manager.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related area
  • One to three years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science Degree or higher in chemistry or related area

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
