About This Role:

The Communications and Marketing Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting the communications and marketing efforts of various Johnson Cancer Research Center (JCRC) activities. This is a part time (20 hours per week) position.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
  • One to two years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or related field or commensurate work experience.
  • Knowledge or experience using Adobe Suite Programs.
  • Knowledge of internet and social media sites.
  • Knowledge of Associated Press Style Guide.
  • Ability to work with various types of computer hardware and other computer related equipment.
  • Ability to communicate through use of various forms of digital media such as social media, web posts.
  • Ability to effectively communicate through writing.
  • Ability to use innovation and creativity in program concepts.
  • Exceptional communication skills including strong business writing and oral presentation abilities suitable for university and community interaction.
  • High degree of motivation, flexibility to multi-task, reliability, responsiveness and attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and expresses ideas clearly, concisely and logically.
  • Innovative with a “can-do attitude.”
  • Communications experience.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
