About This Role:

Twentieth Century U.S. Military History. The Department of History at Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in twentieth-century U.S. military history, beginning August 2023. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the advising and supervising of Masters and PhD students in both History and the interdisciplinary Security Studies program, offer undergraduate and graduate courses in their areas of expertise, and be able to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in U.S. military history.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in hand by the start of the appointment
  • Research and scholarly expertise in 20th century US military history

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A specific topic of expertise not currently represented among Department of History faculty
  • Interdisciplinary training or background
  • Record of peer-reviewed publications
  • Teaching experience and a record of accomplishment in the classroom

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
