About This Role:

The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for a research technician to work at the East Central Kansas Experiment Field, Ottawa, KS.  East Central Kansas Experiment Field provides areas for research, teaching and extension activities.  This position is an integral part of the farm team and as such is responsible for carrying out many of the day to day activities including but not limited to: operating equipment to till, plant, fertilize, apply pesticides and harvest; interacting with faculty, research staff, and graduate students to facilitate their research activities; and maintaining farm facilities and equipment.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires a high school diploma.   

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of relevant experience in farm practices, including maintenance, tillage, planting, spraying and harvesting. 
• Substantial experience in the operation, adjustment and maintenance of farm equipment. 
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with Faculty, Staff and Students.
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds repeatedly.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$14.32 - $19.33 per hour.  Salary commensurate with experience.
