About This Role:

Housing and Dining Services (HDS) seeks qualified applicants for an Office Specialist III to provide first tier customer support. This individual will be part of a team who demonstrate exceptional customer care and offers the opportunity for daily interactions with students and/or parents.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a customer care associate to address incoming and inquiries regarding on-campus housing and dining options, application and contract procedures, and general information about residence halls, Jardine Apartments, dining centers and the department.
  • Process all on-campus housing contract cancellation requests.  May involve scheduling an in person, phone or video consultation with applications to inform of procedural and financial obligations related to cancellation.
  • Compiles and audits data related to contract and calculates financial obligation for each cancellation request.
  • Audits daily departmental cash deposit and transports to local banking facility.
  • Monitors various payments and deferments to determine impact to department.
  • Performs other general administrative/office support tasks.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations both orally and in writing
  • Ability to interpret rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Ability to represent the department and university in a professional manner
  • Completion of college coursework
  • Experience in a customer service environment
  • Knowledge of cash reconciliation and basic accounting
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures
  • Strong computer skills to include demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office environment
