About This Role:

The Program Manager will manage and administer activities of the Innovation Research Extension Advisory Coordination Hub (iREACH) program for the Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab (SIIL) within the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University.

  • Program management will include organizing, planning, and coordinating activities, strengthening technology parks, supporting local human and institutional capacity building in West Africa.
  • Represent iREACH and SIIL at national and international meetings.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison of SIIL interacting with USAID-DC, USAID Missions, and supporting West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development, Peace Corps, and other host country partners in West Africa.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in International Development or associated field or advanced degree in Rural Development and/or in Organizational Science/Management or related field.
  • Proven record of program management acquired through a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated capacity to lead in an international, multidisciplinary, and cross-cultural environment.
  • Work experience in Western and Central Africa and prior professional experience in agriculture interacting with national government departments and non-governmental organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and writing communication skills, computer literacy, and full familiarity with the Microsoft Office® Suite.
  • Ability to communicate complex subjects.
  • Fluency in French with working knowledge of the other local languages in the region is highly desirable.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel regularly in the West Africa region, as needed.
