About This Role:
|
This position exists to provide assistance with daily operation of the Pharmacy while providing good customer service. This is a regular 9-month position that runs with the academic year.
Some of the duties include but are not limited to:
Assist with dispensing of medications within the work flow. This may include data entry upon receiving prescriptions, preparation/packaging of medications, selling OTC products, dispensing medications for clinic use and providing quality customer service to patients.
Act as liaison between insurance companies/patients/LHC billing. This may include entering/updating insurance information from patients, submitting and adjudicating insurance claims within the workflow, contacting insurance companies regarding denied claims, billing out to insurance companies, and posting insurance payments.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
|
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Five years experience in a human or veterinary pharmacy. Experience dealing with insurance companies. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to interpret inventory data so that reorders of pharmaceuticals and supplies may be processed in a timely manner. Be responsible, reliable, demonstrate initiative and accomplish tasks in a professional manner.
Other Requirements:
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy or be able to obtain registration upon beginning employment.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 12 months of appointment.
