About This Role:

Kansas State University College of Agriculture seeks a full-time Program Coordinator to provide administrative support to interdisciplinary research programs housed in the College of Agriculture.
The College of Agriculture and K-State Research and Extension is committed to its role as a premier agricultural research institution. Multi-disciplinary research teams of students, faculty and staff work together to address scientific and economic challenges; promote innovation; and educate a new generation of researchers ready to assume leadership roles in agricultural-related fields. The Program Coordinator will have a key role in supporting multidisciplinary research teams and public-private partnerships as the university extends its research portfolio in agriculture. K-State is also a very internationally engaged university, having formed long-term research and capacity building partnerships with foreign institutions and US government partners, including the US Agency for International Development, US Department of Agriculture, US Department of State, and the Feed the Future Initiative. The College of Agriculture has successfully led four USAID-funded Feed the Future Innovation Labs over the past decade. Kansas State University was recently awarded the Management Entity for the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Climate Resilient Cereals funded by USAID. The Program Coordinator will have an opportunity to play a key part in the start-up process of this new Innovation Lab.
Duties/Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs/Research Director, K-State Research and Extension. The Program Coordinator oversees assigned area of responsibility for one or more projects as follows:
- Serve as the first point of contact for most routine requests from project partners and other parties.
- Organize meetings and workshops (domestic and international).
- Handle key administrative tasks, such as handling domestic and international travel logistics, developing meeting agendas and notes, contacting vendors, etc.
- Coordinate the day-to-day programming for projects.
- Assist in program and project communication needs.
- Identify and help to develop solutions and initiatives for various project efforts.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor's degree. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three or more years of experience in project coordination.
- Familiarity with hosting events and meetings using digital communications tools, such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with meeting and event planning and logistics.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, including creating and using spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer service orientation.
- Capability to be proactive and productive in a fast-paced environment, applying relevant input from appropriate sources and identifying innovative solutions to problems.
- Comfortable corresponding via phone and email with partners, vendors and stakeholders across the US and internationally.
- Previous experience with USAID or other federal funding agencies.
Other Requirements:
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally.

$42,000 - $55,000
