About This Role:

The Advisor Training Administrator oversees and manages training and professional development programs for academic advisors at Kansas State University. This position develops systems, training, and resources to ensure that advisors are well-equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to effectively support and guide students in their academic and career pursuits.

This position reports to the executive director of academic advising within the academic and career engagement unit.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One year of relevant experience.  This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in counseling, higher education, student affairs, academic advising, or a related field.
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in academic advising
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in developing and delivering training programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of academic advising principles, best practices and trends in higher education.
  • Familiarity with best practices in advisor training and development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively convey information to advisors.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, be detail oriented, and prioritize.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using learning management platforms, presentation technologies and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity in advising software and other relevant technologies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team of advisors, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to work in diverse and changing environments.
  • Strong personal computer skills

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$46,555.00 - $59,354.00 annually ($1,790.577 - $2,282.847 bi-weekly)
