About This Role:

The Associate Registrar over Student Services: covering areas such as Academic Records, Residency Classification, FERPA, Compliance, Athletic Certification, and Reporting is responsible for and exercises significant judgment and decisions over the management, administration, and supervision of personnel, including the Assistant Registrar within the area of support, the Manager/Supervisor, and staffing leads, along with departmental student support.

Serves as the Official NCAA Division I Athletic Certification Officer for the University, signing off on all student-athletes before practice/competition, submitting compliance reports, and supporting/training for College Academic Certifying Officers. This position also supports all office, division, and university projects/programs that include but are not limited to student educational records, FERPA, customer service, enrollment/registration, commencement activities, diploma/graduation processes, National Student Clearinghouse, NCAA Division I eligibility, academic calendar, Residency Classification, Reverse Transfer, etc.…

The Associate Registrar is directly responsible for ensuring the successful fulfillment of the office's mission and oversight as detailed in the job responsibilities. In addition, the Associate Registrar works closely with the University Registrar to determine short and long-range planning objectives for the Office of the Registrar and provides expertise and leadership to the Office as needed as the failure of these services would be catastrophic for the University.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree
  2. Higher Education/post-secondary experience: Five years progressively responsible experience in Enrollment Management (Admissions, Financial Aid, and Registrar) or experiences directly related area of expertise that interacts with the business processes handled by these offices.
  3. Knowledge of student records maintenance, registration/enrollment processes, degree and graduation processes, and verification procedures.
  4. Experience reviewing, implementing, or recommending changes to multiple policies and procedures, including university, state, and federal rules and regulations. Knowledge of FERPA a must.
  5. Working knowledge of Student Information Systems platform(s) - i.e. PeopleSoft/Oracle, u.achieve/DARS, Imaging (Perceptive/ImageNow), National Student Clearinghouse, etc….
  6. Five years supervisory experience including but not limited to the direct supervision of 5+ staff, hiring decisions, pay and time card tracking, etc.…
  7. Ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating situations, making decisions as well as grasp new techniques and updates to products/processes quickly.
  8. Experience working with diverse populations along with providing training and technical development, public speaking, presentations, customer service in higher education-related areas.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$60,383 - $78,503 annually
