About This Role:

We are recruiting one technician to conduct collections management duites associated with curation of the Kansas State Biorepository. Applicant should have skills associated with curatorial techniques, including full specimen preparation, specimen data management, organizational skills for all specimen parts, and ability to oversee undergraduate employees and volunteers. Applicant will also be responsible for processing, sending, and receiving loan materials, as directed by the curator.

The Kansas State Biorepository is a new museum collection associated with the K-State Biology mammalian teaching collections, specimen accessions from ongoing research, as well as donations from multiple other stakeholders. This is a research archive of study skins and skeletal materials, frozen tissues (genomic resources) and fluid preserved specimens, including both ecto- and endo-parasites.

The technicians will be supported by a salary wage including fringe benefits.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in ecology, wildlife management, conservation, or other related field
  • Valid drivers license
  • Curatorial experience for wild mammals
  • Experience conducting field work
  • Data management experience

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
