About This Role:

The College of Business Administration at Kansas State University is seeking to fill a full-time position in academic advising. The college has a centralized advising model with 7 advisors who serve approximately 2,500 undergraduates. The advising team’s overarching mission is to enhance student success by providing individualized and comprehensive advising services that meet the needs of diverse student populations. The academic advisors work very closely with the college’s career development staff and academic departments.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in College Student Development, Business or related field.
  • Experience in academic advising in higher education environment.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations in higher education.
  • Experience working with first generation students in higher education.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexible and adaptive to changes in programs, processes, polices and work assignments.
  • Experience with student information systems such as Oracle-People Soft KSIS and DARS, SSC-Navigate (Student Success Collaborative) or comparable systems.
  • Commitment to understanding one’s own experiences and perspectives as well as the experiences and perspectives of diverse others in an effort to cultivate strong relations and collaboration.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$48,000 - $52,000 annually
