About This Role

The Budget Office is seeking an Application Developer I or II. This position is essential to maintaining, improving, and developing new models in the university’s new financial planning and analysis platform Anaplan. With direction from the university budget office, this position will be a key administrator of Anaplan who will support its implementation and adoption across campus. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Builds new Anaplan models, dashboards, and data architecture; converts legacy system models to Anaplan
  • Collaborates with the budget office to roadmap needs and future developments in support of the university strategic plan; supports process mapping activities, including identification and documentation of requirements
  • Serves as the main point of contact with Anaplan and liaises between the budget office and IT as required
  • Validates data, tests and troubleshoots models, and makes recommendations for solutions and improvements
  • Understands and maintains existing Anaplan structures
  • Applies Anaplan best practices; prepares and reviews documentation for current processes, model structures, assumptions, data definitions, methodologies, and standards to ensure business continuity
  • Maintains and updates as necessary user roles and permissions, lists, modules, and dashboards, data flow and integrations, automation batch scripting, etc.
  • Continuously identifies ways to streamline workflows, automate data, and increase model efficiency
  • Regularly attends webinars, trainings, and other opportunities to stay up-to-date with Anaplan developments
  • Assists with campus training and gathers user feedback and use cases
  • Other related duties as assigned
Worksite Option
 
This position is eligible for hybrid worksite. Work is performed partially remote and partially on employer premises or designated assignment location. This role is expected to work on-site approximately two (2) days a week.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Application Developer I: Two years of relevant experience
  • Application Developer II: Three years of relevant experience
  • This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Anaplan, Power BI, Tableau, or other data analytic tools
  • Ability to provide high-quality customer service with a high degree of accountability for successfully managing concurrent responsibilities and projects
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to accurately assess data, reconcile discrepancies, make reasonable interpretations, and make logical recommendations
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to work independently
  • Model-building experience in Anaplan
  • Experience with the full application lifecycle (analyze, design, build, text, implement, support)
  • Knowledge of the K-State budget, HR practices and procedures, and/or relationship among central and departmental budget functions
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft HRIS software, Oracle Financial software, PeopleSoft KSIS software, and the KSU Annual Budget System
  • Knowledge of budget principles and accounting practices and/or experience working in higher education or governmental agencies
  • Professional communication skills, including ability to prepare materials clearly, and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences, client groups, and all levels of management
  • Experience using predictive analytics such as statistical models and forecasting techniques to predict likely scenarios to support complex forecasts
