About This Role:

The Assistant Director for Residence Life and Leadership Programs is a live out professional position that serves as part of the student living leadership team. Duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Provides operational oversight of 3-7 residence halls to include facilities management and staffing.
  • Supervises 3-5 full time Community Coordinators and provides indirect supervision to 4-5 graduate level Assistant Community Coordinators/Assistant Coordinators for Departmental Initiatives.
  • Participates in recruitment processes for graduate assistants, Resident Assistants, and hourly student employees.
  • Coordinates with staff to provide programming activities, education, training, advising, and policy review.
  • Monitors budgets and other fiscal related reports related to funding for residence halls and committees.
  • Assists with various student issues including academics, peer conflicts, personal problems. Serves as part of the student living leadership team on-call duty rotation to address crisis situations.
  • Serves as part of the departmental initiatives team to promote the four focus areas of academic success, leadership development, and enrollment management including being the primary leader for leadership development initiatives within on-campus living facilities.
  • Provides leadership for programming that complements student and community development.
  • Administers student conduct cases and adjudicates contractual level hearings.
  • Advises student groups including the Association of Residence Halls.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and three to five years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in student affairs, college student development, higher education administration or related field.
  • A minimum of three years, full-time work in housing administration or related student affairs work with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience with collaborative efforts to develop and enhance leadership programs.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range:

$58,000-$61,000 per year plus meal plan during the academic year and summer, excluding recess periods.
