About This Role:

The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University seeks an enthusiastic clinical pathologist, who is a collaborative team player at the assistant professor level.

The KSVDL is a full-service, AAVLD-accredited laboratory, offering a complete range of diagnostic services for all species. The DMP is comprised of faculty with expertise in pathology, virology, immunology, infectious disease, epidemiology, toxicology, and parasitology.  All faculty, including this position, contribute to training of veterinary students, graduate students, and post-doctoral trainees, interns and residents.  The candidate will join a pathology team of clinical and anatomic pathologists, technologists, and interns. The candidate will be a co-leader in building our clinical pathology residency program and serve as a resource to medical technologists in the state-of-the-art KSVDL clinical pathology lab. All percentages are negotiable depending on the candidate’s career aspirations.  This position usually carries an appointment of 65-80% diagnostic service, including all routine services provided by the clinical pathology lab, such as interpretation of cytology, hematology, chemistry, and urine samples, and consultation with clinicians, house officers, and veterinary students. The remaining appointment is divided between teaching (continuing education, outreach, mentoring of residents and interns, and instruction of senior veterinary students) and other scholarly activities. Opportunities exist for collaborative and clinical investigative research. The chosen candidate is expected to follow the KSVDL quality management system documents and processes and the AAVLD Standard. Information regarding the directed service/teaching/research/scholarly activity opportunities within KSVDL and DMP is available on our web sites (http-//www.ksvdl.org) and (Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology (k-state.edu)).
