About This Role:

The Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional & Community Planning (LARCP) in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design (APDesign) at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS is seeking qualified candidates to teach courses in the department related to real estate and community development as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. We're specifically seeking candidates with expertise in real estate or urban economics and community development. 

The successful candidate will:

- deliver creative and effective teaching in courses related to real estate and community development.

- engage in significant, peer-reviewed research, scholarship, and/or creative activities.

- supervise independent graduate research.

- participate in departmental governance.

- participate in university and professional service.

- contribute to an environment that fosters diversity and collegiality.

Worksite Options:

This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Planning or a closely allied field or ABD.
  • Candidate must demonstrate evidence of inspired teaching.
  • Candidate must demonstrate evidence of or potential for scholarly productivity.
  • Candidate must demonstrate focus related to real estate and community development or urban economics. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Planning.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of student interests and academic levels.
  • Ability to help students develop career-ready professional skills.
  • Relevant professional experience.
  • Someone who can teach one or more of the following:
    • Asset Based Community Development
    • Real Estate or Urban Economics
    • Land Development
    • Infrastructure Planning
    • Other related subjects
