The Mike Wiegers Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (www.ece.ksu.edu) at Kansas State University invites applications for tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of electric power and energy systems. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in electrical engineering, a strong publication record, passion for research and teaching excellence, potential to develop a vigorous extramurally-funded research program, and willingness to participate in collaborative and interdisciplinary research. The selected candidate will conduct cutting-edge research that would lead to robust systems for providing secure and resilient delivery of electricity. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with faculty members within the department and outside to address emerging challenges related to the integration of various energy resources and innovative devices both at the transmission and distribution level to align with the university and college priorities of sustainability and infrastructure resiliency.
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, as one of eight departments within the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering, has 19 faculty members and approximately 500 undergraduate and graduate students. The department is located in the new Engineering Hall equipped with the state-of-the-art research laboratories, classrooms, and office spaces. The department has strong research programs in power systems, power electronics, electronics, wireless communications, network engineering, and biomedical engineering.
