About This Role:

The Department of Housing and Dining Services seeks qualified applicants for Assistant Director for Academic Support and Student Staff Development. This position works as part of a talented student living team to create impactful initiatives to foster and support the academic success of students.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and oversee academic support initiatives for students living on campus. Work closely with campus student success offices and academic colleges to enhance the services provided to students.
  • Co-chair departmental student living student staff training committee and provide on-going leadership and consistency in training student employees.
  • Collaborate with campus partners for specific academic scholar communities to enhance the experiences of students living in scholars housing communities. Serve as a liaison to connect students and staff to resources as well as work with staff to develop scholar focused programming.
  • Coordinate with K-State Career Center to provide leadership for programs and services for related to career readiness, internships, and employment opportunities.
  • Oversee the administration and awarding of departmental scholarships.
  • Advise Future Leaders in Student Affairs student organization. Oversee the administration of various departmental operational and training manuals.
  • Serve as part of the Student Living Leadership Team which includes rotating on-call responsibilities.

Worksite Options:

This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and three to five years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in student affairs, college student development, higher education administration, or related field.
  • Three years full time work in housing administration or related student affairs work.
  • Experience with academic support programs and retention efforts
  • Experience with living-learning communities
  • Experience with student staff training and development
  • Supervisory experience.

Other Requirements:

  • The successful candidate must have the ability to participate in rotating on-call duty and some scheduling flexibility.

$58,700 - $62,000 per year
