About This Role:
The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KSVDL) is seeking board certified or residency-trained clinical pathologists to provide locum support between August 2024-August 2025. Scheduling within these dates will be flexible with a preference for 1 to 2 week blocks. Longer locums will be considered. The locum will be responsible for review of cytology samples, secondary review of select hematology cases, and consultation on clinical chemistry, urinalysis, and serum protein electrophoresis, as needed. We utilize weeknight and weekend digital pathology service for cases submitted after hours.
The KSVDL clinical pathology diagnostic service is supported by a high quality, high volume, and diverse case load with submissions from within the teaching hospital and from outside practices, a well-equipped laboratory, and a significant oncology and infectious disease caseload. The Clinical Pathology Section maintains strong and active interactions with the other sections in the Kansas State Veterinary Health Center. The university is located in sunny Manhattan, KS with numerous opportunities for outdoor activities, restaurants, and sporting events. Kansas City is approximately 2 hours by car.
A competitive stipend is being offered. For additional information, email Barb Lujtemeier: blutjeme@vet.k-state.edu, Program Manager KSVDL.
