About This Role

The Carl R. Ice College of Engineering seeks a professional to spearhead the corporate engagement network sponsorship program and work closely with campus partners to establish a successful undergraduate student leadership development program. This position requires interpersonal ability, initiative, strategic thinking, diligence, and willingness to serve as an advocate on behalf of engineering students across the university. Responsibilities will emphasize networking with target industries and companies, utilizing relationship management tools, maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of corporate relations’ best practices, and building programs to help students in the college acquire industry-relevant skills.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Represent the college as the corporate partner liaison. Develop and maintain company relationships within industries to increase and expand on and off-campus engagement in alignment with K-State Next-Gen Strategic Goals.  
  • Manage programmatic activities involving companies, including company information sessions and tabling, workshops, and off-campus facility visits. Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of corporate partner programming activities and participation. Engage students in upcoming activities to increase visibility of corporate partners. 
  • Establish and cultivate long-term partnerships with companies wanting to develop and recruit K-State engineering graduates. 
  • Establish relationships with college and university stakeholders to appropriately involve them in corporate engagement activities and strategies, and develop avenues to enhance collaborations.
  • Develop and execute a student leadership experience for engineering undergraduates, and be a champion of the program and its opportunities. 
  • Maintain both corporate and student participation records to identify trends and opportunities. 
  • Serve as a member of the college's corporate partnership team (which includes representation from engineering research and graduate programs; academic and administrative affairs; dean's office; and engineering communication and marketing).
  • Contribute to the goals of the University Engineering Initiative Act by tracking data and trends of internships and opportunities as it relates to engineering students.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience 
  • Ability to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree 
  • Experience in higher education, corporate engagement, career development, marketing and communications, or talent acquisition 
  • Experience working independently, and ability to use sound judgement and discretion when making decisions
  • Ability to think entrepreneurially and strategically regarding the identification and qualification of new potential companies/organizations to partner with the university
  • Ability to work responsibly within a set budget 
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook, databases 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of audiences
