About This Role

Kansas State University Salina is seeking an experienced Custodial Specialist to become a member of the Facilities team. This individual will directly contribute to the continued support of a clean environment in the campus buildings through their knowledge of materials, methods, and practices used in cleaning operations as well as commercial equipment.

This position is scheduled 5:30am-2:00pm Monday through Friday and is eligible for a $.60 shift differential.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • None

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One Year experience in completion of industrial/commercial type cleaning.
  • Knowledge of the materials, methods, and practices used in cleaning operations, and the operation, use, and care of vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, scrubbing machines, polishing machines, and other janitorial equipment.
  • Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces, and the ability to read and follow instructions.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license required upon employment. 
  • Work requires considerable physical exertion to transport equipment and supplies associated with custodial work, weighing 50 pounds or more, unassisted, on a repetitive basis throughout the completion of assigned tasks.
  • This position is considered essential for inclement weather and other campus emergencies.
