This position plays a key role in recruitment and retention of students, faculty and staff by creating positive first impressions at Kansas State University.  The selected individual will provide effective leadership for a custodial team to ensure a clean and safe environment in campus buildings, continually promoting a standard of high customer satisfaction.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • One Year of Relevant Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer knowledge of principles of inventory control and of the principles and techniques of supervision.
  • Prefer ability to organize and clearly express information in concise written form; assign and supervise the work of subordinates and to train and instruct employees in cleaning
    and other housekeeping duties; and to maintain and organize filing and record keeping systems.
  • Two years of custodial experience in building, industrial, or institutional custodial work.
  • Prefer 18 months experience being in a supervisory capacity and experience in scheduling and assigning subordinates.
  • Valid driver's license preferred upon employment.

Other Requirements:

  • Completion of KSU Introduction to Supervision within the probationary period required.
  • Daily: Computer, Telephone, Two-way radio.
  • Weekly: State Vehicle, Sweepers, Vacuums, Scrubbers, Buffers, Carpet Cleaner.
