About This Role

Kansas State University and the College of Agriculture seeks a detail-oriented Degree Analyst. This position is a member of the Academic Services unit within the College of Agriculture’s Ag Academic Programs team. Utilizing student information systems and technology platforms, this position will be responsible for monitoring undergraduate curriculum changes and ensuring corresponding DARS audits are maintained and updated accordingly, updating student DARS audits, processing requests (add/drop/edit) for and completion of minors and certificates, assisting with the clearance of undergraduate graduation applications, assisting with Program/Plan and late enrollment processes, and providing general Student Records support. This position will be cross-trained to serve as back-up support for course scheduling, the course and curriculum review and approval process, and course transfer evaluation processing. This is a student-facing customer service position that will act as first point of contact for the Ag Academic Programs Advising & Retention unit, answering inquiries and basic student services questions daily. 

Duties/responsibilities: 

  • Under the direction of the Asst. Director of Academic Services, utilize the uAchieve/DARS web client and knowledge of KBOR, university, and college policies, to update students’ DARS audits per approved exception/variance requests.
  • Under the direction of the Asst. Director of Academic Services, update new/incoming students’ DARS audits per college/department-approved protocols.
  • Work with the Director of Academic Services to monitor undergraduate curriculum changes and ensure that corresponding DARS audits are created, maintained, and/or updated accordingly.
  • Work with the Asst. Director of Academic Services to complete graduation checks, reviewing/updating DARS audits as needed and distributing communication to impacted students and advisors.
  • Communicate with students and advisors to process minor and/or certificate requests (add/drop/edit).
  • Collaborate with the Office of the Registrar to process (data entry) minors and certificate program/plan actions in KSIS and ensure that the changes are entered correctly. 
  • Communicate with departments to determine if non-degree advisor assignment is required and process advisor assignments in KSIS, as applicable.
  • Review graduation applications for all College of Agriculture undergraduate minors and certificates within the designated timeline. • Communicate with students, advisors, and department points of contact regarding the status of students’ applications.
  • If deficiencies are identified, work with department points of contact to determine the likelihood of resolution within the graduation period timeframe.
  • After grades post at the end of the semester, review all minors and certificates, and approve any that are completed. Reach out to department points of contact regarding any that are not approved. If it is determined the student did not meet requirements, send a message via Navigate to the student to determine if the application needs moved to the next term or if it should be denied. Document denied minors and/or certificates.
  • Under the direction of the Asst. Director of Academic Services, provide general Student Records support (advisor assignments, Program/Plan and late enrollment processing, monitoring the agrecords email and responding to general inquiries, as well as other responsibilities, as needed).

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma and one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 3 years of experience working in student records and/or student service at an institution of higher learning 
  • 1-3 years working in student services, student records, or data entry and/or processing 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 
  • Experience with Student Information Systems and technology platforms (eg. KSIS, DARS, Navigate, Slate, etc) and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerBI and Outlook) 
  • Ability to correctly interpret, apply, and implement policies and procedures 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range
