About This Role:

Kansas State University's Aerospace and Technology Campus in Salina is seeking an experienced Electrician to join its Facilities team!

This position is responsible for all types of electrical tasks, including installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, light fixtures, elevators, vent hoods, fans, electric motors, exit/emergency lighting, fire panels, etc. The position is also responsible for maintenance of building wiring and voltage lines (110v, 208v, 277v, 440v, 480v). This position will also assist the Facilities department with building and grounds maintenance as needed.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma and one year of relevant experience. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by hiring manager.
  • Must have valid journeyman’s license upon employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer valid licensed master electrician and knowledge of laws, regulations, occupational hazards, standard safety practices as required by OSHA, and materials related to building and mechanical trades.
  • Ability to use standard tools of the trade.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
  • Valid driver’s license upon employment.
  • Completion of van training and certification to wear respiratory equipment required within probationary period.
  • Must have the mobility to access small work areas, climb ladders, and work in varying temperatures and heights.
  • Work involves considerable physical exertion to transport materials/supplies weighing 50 pounds or more unassisted, regularly, on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to perform manual labor for extended periods of time.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour. Salary offers are commensurate with experience and education.
