About This Role:

The Cybersecurity Risk & Compliance Analyst is responsible for the security design supporting business process in the most effective and efficient manner while ensuring compliance with all security and architectural mandates. This individual will work closely with other teams including those outside the Division of IT.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Work within a small team to define and establish an appropriate information security framework, such as NIST and/or ISO, that will meet the cyber risk and regulatory needs of the University.
  • Monitors adherence and compliance with internal and external regulations and provides recommendations.
  • Performs risk assessment on security control gaps and support prioritization.
  • Works closely with both technical and functional teams to ensure the success of the overall security solution.
  • Helps identify operational risk and weaknesses through periodic operational risk assessments and testing of the implemented controls.
  • Identify gaps and improvements in current processes.

Worksite Options:

This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field.
  • Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods, concepts, and practices of auditing techniques.
  • Expert communicator to influence acceptance of new methods, work procedures, organizational relationships, etc., that affect the basic content and character of operations, relationships with other groups, and overall mission goals.
  • Experience with audit testing IT Security controls across a large and complex decentralized organization.
  • Ability to represent Kansas State University, within and outside the university, and to resolve different and entrenched viewpoints.
